The year 2020 has caused many white people to realize we live in a racist system. The Green New Deal is about systemic change for all, and deconstructing racism must be front and central in this agenda.

Rain or shine, hundreds of protesters have camped outside City Hall around the clock, refusing to leave until the police budget is cut. The encampment is run by a combination of veteran organizers and first-time volunteers, and takes some inspiration from Occupy Wall Street of 2011 at Zuccotti Park.
